We’ve seen Ruby as a newborn (who smiled for me even way back then!), and a few months later at 3 months.  We had to get together again for this sweet baby girl’s 8 month photos.

Her eyes still look about the same…intense blue!  Well, hard to see in black & white, but they pop out even then.  I loved those eyes when she was 3 months old, she has so much personality in them.

Ruby’s mama, Darlene, is extremely accomplished in the sewing/knitter/creator of all great stuff.  I actually got to “sew” with her (read:  sit beside her sewing) for a special project a friend hosted, called “Binkeez for Comfort” (please check out the website, we had a lot of fun sewing for this great cause) and hoped maybe some of her expertise rubbed off on me.  An example of her abilities?  She made the magenta hat for Ruby’s newborn and then “whipped up” another larger size for her 3 month shoot.  Here, we managed to get the 3 month size on her head.

So it barely fit (we’ll need a new one for 12 months!), but you aren’t noticing that, are you?  Yup.  You are noticing that tush.  Only on a baby photographer blog would you hear things like, “OH MY GOSH BABY TUSH!” and have it make sense.  Every time I look at this photo I just gasp at the sheer cuteness of that little tushy.

Ruby wasn’t quite crawling (she probably is by the time this blog post goes up), BUT she is pulling herself and almost cruising, so sitting her in a basket didn’t last long (Darlene was RIGHT to the side of this shot to make sure she didn’t try to get out on her own!).

The weather was lovely for October, so we did take a few outdoors (on one of Darlene’s cool quilt creations…favorite her Etsy shop, Natural Violet).

You can see Ruby enjoyed herself.  🙂
